Nice work Bob. Out of interest, would you put endseal on the feet before you paint/finish or is that a daft question.

Not sure what "endseal" is. I assume sealing caps?
To be honest, I was not all that particular about the finishing touches on this as I did not expect it to pass the bosses inspection.
i was quite surprised when she asked for the full set to be made.
This one is just being painted by herself with a dark blue wood stain. The feet are just champferred to prevent splintering.
It will be on pressed concrete so no worry of rot.
Due to our very hot summers and short but very wet winters I'm not certain how many years it will last, although another 10 will do me I think).

What did surprise me was how much that blue stain showed up every imperfection on the wood. I only sanded to 220 grit at best, and in the raw looked decent enough. Now its blue it looks like its been in a kiddies playground for a couple of years.with all the cross scratching being very obvious.

Onwards to the mark 2 version.

hi Bob, I'm hoping the client will take me out for a meal, so dowt I'll get chance this time, but next time I'm over there (should be over again, they've found gas after all) I'll try and get a bit of free time for a coffee or some such.

I'm planning a few of these now (the wife saw them), although I don't know when I'll be allowed in the garage for such things.

If youre dealing with a cypriot company, youll get lots of good meals, just not a lot of progress. And if its a government project, lawd 'elp yer.

There isnt a capital project on the island that isnt several years overdue.
as a quick example, I've been here 9 years now and still waiting for the deeds to the house.
