Not used the saw for ages, mainly as i hated the new pinless attachments that i fitted to my old axi scrollsaw (was well used when i bought it from here), so got round to reftting the pinned fittings and used the other fitting for attaching pinless blades which is only slightly less annoying and a faff!
Anyhow, an old neighbour saw the puzzle squirrel years ago and said her daughter loves squirrels and can i do her one.
fast forward to now, nice day so in lunch time from work decided to have a play, and came up with the squirrel puzzle and merged with her Initial like a name plaque style, also in Oak (which was the first time i had scrolled with anything other then cheap pine).
Not as fancy as some scrolled items on here, but its a start
Came out really well, there were some things i may do different but overall happy with how it turned out and need to remember that large blades are a pita to use when needing sharp turns!
also found that whilst oak is a lot harder and dustier than pine, there is very little tearout at the back (fixed with a quick wipe of 240 grit) and looks a lot nicer than pine.
