I rarely need an outfeed table, when I do its mainly for light but long stuff coming off the bandsaw or something needing support to the side of the bandsaw.I too use an old workmate into which I clamp a length of decking which I had lying around, with some leftover copper pipe attached to the top edge to form a "T". Takes up almost no space when not in use and the workmate is handy for other things. Free. Can also be used to support the ends of boards or other long things when I am working outdoors.OK for my limited needs, I can see how proper rollers or tables would be great but for a few times a year mine is good enough.
