That sure is pretty awful, but have to say, that (thankfully) was the worst, in "Other Items" there was much better stuff.
Maybe this is a fresh marketing ploy, show the cr*p first, and keep the best for later.Rodders

bloody awful - but as you say not quite so awful stuff in the other items, every single one of which was by Keith Black, as was the fairy shaped object.

So I'm guessing either the "shop" owner is Kieth black or it's his halfwit relative who shoudl stick to painting.

I would like to say Thank You Mr Rafael Zetter. Thank you for proving that it doesn't matter if you are an adult, you can still be as spiteful as a 4 year old. Yes, it was wrongly listed on price, and actually a first piece ever attempted, as I'm sure we've all done. And I'm sure many have encountered on ebay and other places.
I, for one don't message every artist whose work I think looks crap and berate them for their work. But I would like to thank you that I was able to come home from work this morning to find Mr Black's confidence knocked back by such petty words.
I'm not going to message again and I expect your moderators to block me as soon as you see this post and all have a good laugh over 'Remember that blokes crazy girlfriend came and had a rant'.
But thank you for showing me my 3 year old has more respect for other people than a bunch of 'adults'.
(And yes, for those interested it was an off cut.)

The price is obviously wrong. To do that amount of work, the price must be far higher. I have tried pyrographics and its not easy to get the right amount of darkness, so this is very artistic. Being 'flipant' can offend and is not called for. You would not like it said about your own efforts I'm sure.

I'm pretty sure, given the 'estimated value', that confidence is the only thing he has in abundance. Which is a good thing, right?

If you put your work on sale expect people to judge it, you can't expect universal praise for your work it needs to be earned.

Guys, I gotta say this thread has upset me some. Remember this is not a private conversation but a public forum. Of course you are free to say what you wish and to dislike what you dislike, but is there really any need for such spitefulness?

Windsofav, If you're going to make and sell art then you need to be bullet proof. How many people have said that Tracey Emin's stuff is sh!t, I imagine she shrugs, looks at her turner prize certificate, counts her money and tidies her bedroom.
Also even the most negative comments here have said that your later pieces were better, just keep going, Don't worry about the haters. If criticism makes your next piece better then good but don't ever let it stop you.

Personally I think it's pretty insulting to ask people to pay for practice pieces. If I had a three or five year old they'd have been brought up with less of a sense of entitlement and more respect for others.

Your post is as petty, snide and vindictive as any here.

The current mood in society says we're all unique and special snowflakes, and therefore all our efforts deserve serious attention and unalloyed praise.

Personally I think the pendulum has swung too far, and we need to be reminded of the hard reality that achieving anything worthwhile requires rigorous application and long hours of practise.

I am looking for early retirement because I am exhausted with dealing with narcissic 35 year old "teenagers".
Hope they are true to their word and stay away from here.

I couldn't agree more.
Well said!
