Sautershop have advertised on here - not sure if they still do so.

Does anyone have any experience of purchasing from them for delivery to the UK?

I am looking at some saw blades - a lot cheaper than Felder, even after allowing for the 20% vat + 2% import duty ( I think) + the (unknown) courier brokerage fee (I am guessing about £15?)

Cheers

Importing tools from the continent seems to have been a bit of a moving target recently following leaving the EU. I've been thinking of purchasing tools from Dictum and fine-tools.com so checking in on their shipping cost pages now and then. It seems things have settled down since the worst point when it was very difficult and/or expensive to ship from them.

Looking at the Saunter shipping pages they are using standard couriers UPS and DHL so things should be straightforward. When I shipped from fine-tools.com at the beginning of 2023 the process took a couple of weeks. There was a short delay when I needed to pay the UK VAT (fine-tools refunded the Germany VAT on purchase) and a small handling cost before the shipment was released from customs. But otherwise the process was painless. I expect the situation is similar now.

@scholar I recently sold my Hammer and Felder machines, I have some unused 410mm M42 planer blades, some once used 315mm saw blades and other saw blades which have been used more. If interested please PM me or pop over to take a look. I also have Hammer spindle moulder hoods for ring fence and tenon work.

Cheers

Thanks @RobNichols - that’s helpful to know. (Sautershop do not charge the VAT in the first place for UK purchasers, so that seems OK). Re the couriers’ handling charges, this is probably a small amount, but it seems impossible to find it!

Cheers
