We're back from our three week fabulous visit to India and Sri Lanka..

..India ..land of contrasts from dry heat, vibrant colours and the noise of Rajasthan to the more humid and watery backwaters of Kerala in the South and on to Sri Lanka and those fabulous Buddha statues and freely available hardwood .

Did I mention the fish? The sweet tasting pineapples? ...sigh...

Only one question...why am I so cold? :-k

Sounds like you had a good time!

dw...well guess it depends on what you mean by touring! We took a total of six flights, one train journey and covered about 2400 miles in an Ambassador car across India.

Every other day we'd be moving on and travelling around 200-300 km. Sometimes VERY scary as the Indians don't seem to bother with indicators, overtaking on blind bends, or pedestrians! There is an amazing amount of give and take between drivers with everyone swerving to make room for someone else.

Well done.

Should be alright for a retired taxi driver then.

Perhaps I'll wait a bit longer or should I perhaps have done that one when I was younger.

Are motels around or are they still to come?
