Last night I watched Dame Kiri Ti Kanawa on the box.

On the program I heard a soprano I had not heard sing before

So If you like opera you'll like this!

I was blown away by the sheer quality of her voice. I have always rated Elizabeth Schwarzkopf as the best... But now I am spoiled for choice!

Hi.

Yes she is a real diva.

If you want to hear and watch her, she has the lead in two very highly rated Opera DVDs: Bellini's Il Puritani (DG 073 4421) and Massenet's Manon Lescaut (DG 073 4431). She gets rave reviews.

I actually though'd this was going to be about a wooden leg, as an uber obscure reference to Tony's cleaner with the wooden leg in The Sopranos.

I watched the programme and enjoyed it immensely.

Are you watching Gareth malone goes to Glynbourne? which was on before the What makes a great soprano?
