My old metal shed has a hole in the roof so when moving it I decided to cover it with some old sail cloth, recycling two things at once.. I've removed the bar at the apex and re-installed it above the covering. For now it is attached to the sides and back with gaffer tape and just clamped at the front. I'm seeking advice on a more permanent fix, please. I was thinking of screws/bolts but then the idea of glue came to me, but what type? All suggestions welcome, thanks.

It's a bit of a bodge but I'd go for a bead of Sikaflex 522 under the cloth edge and strips of flat aluminium screwed on with self tappers over the top. Best if you can bend it to follow the sheet profile otherwise just short lengths between the ridges

The whole thing is a bodge and a bit of an experiment. Thanks for the idea - I will explore this great advice.

I'd put foam over the eves as the metal edges will change through the sail cloth in short order. You could glue it on with bitumen paint and add a layer on top too.
