You dirty minded old beggars....

Nope I got a Record No 076 bullnose plane of fleabay, hah! wife is now eating kit-e-kat for the week and the kids are on gruel.. Priorities right lads  . So who is going to tell me I got robbed for the £21.

always someone who will.

That's a good price, iirc.
The 077, 077A are nice planes as well. They fall easily to the hand. Now you need to make a sliding-top storage box!

Funnily enough smudger I did just that only thing is I put my record smoothing and block plane in it to test it and they kinda stayed in there, ah well always tomorrow.

sides are straight through the end has stopped rebate at each end where the sides butt up to it.

might try a hidden dovetail box next with inlaid ebony marquetry and a m.o.p lid and velvet lining next time...........

Well I got bored running around in a flash car last night so today I paid penance and cleaned them saws up above, as well as the two planes I got given, did the best I could so thats all I could do.

You've lost me there smudger, which shoulder plane ?.

Only things I had with severe rust on where the 3 saws, two planes ( as bad as the saws) 2 spokeshaves a brace and a record bench vice, they had all been left out in one of them big plastic trays for a number of years till I spotted them in a friends garden and liberated them. Mind you I think I got the bad end of the deal because I spent all day cleaning that lot and made my lungs worse again with all the rust flying around. Been sick quite badly since, its bad enough I cant work over the chest let alone this one coming to haunt me.

They cleaned up quite nice!

And wear a dust mask when working with fine metal dust. It's quite nasty stuff and some can quite react quite badly. Also a good thing to clean your hands regularly. I did a lot of filing on O1 steel to create a set of beading blades. Didn't wear any and I'm still sick from it. Still got to do a 30 piece reeding set  resperator it is.

Smudger!!!!!!!!!! , its the washing up liquid for you now.

I must be lucky... My Missus keeps me supplied with 'economy sized' tins of 'Swarfega' and some creamy stuff similar to 'Rozalex', but smells a bit nicer! I wonder what she is trying to tell me?

If you live in or near Brum, the stall is somewhere in the new open market.

Correction: 'The Hardware Man in the Rag Market!'

John :D
