I popped down the highstreet to the Warehouse and purchased a pvc type plastic box that lays on and in the freezer shelf for £3.99.

A top lid flap is prooving a little more difficult to overcome for an idea,perhaps a flexible piece of clear polythene sheeting attached with velcro?

That's a disgraceful price for whirlpool to ask for a plastic box. We had a whirlpool fridge and dishwasher once, and in both cases they fell apart as the plastics became brittle. I've avoided them ever since.

Seems like freezer manufacturers use the same marketing techniques as printer manufacturers - sell the initial product cheap then sting the customer for replacement parts!

The adverts and pop ups on UKW and other web sites are just placeholders for your browser (google) to place adverts 'relevant to you', I.E. anything and everything you may have searched for or web pages you have visited anytime in the past.

Have you been able to get the glass cover off? If not google there are many solutions there to get it off. It appears to be another dirty trick up their sleeve which they have not put right.

I'm not sure freezer drawers are fit for purpose. They break really easily and if the drawer is slightly stiff ( as in needing defrosting) then look out - it's another £60 - or put an ad on freecycle to see if anyone has a similar freezer that no longer works and they ard disposing of.

Disgraceful.
