How would you Paint this?

Hi Folks,
Was making some flowerboxes today and had some small detail work to paint,
basically I wanted to paint the cut-out inside heart borders white to finish the paintwork while not messing up the rest of the box already painted.
Was wondering how would you Pros go about painting such stuff the correct way?

I just took some masking tape and carefully taped along the edges where it meets the green paint and went to work with a fine brush , it worked out more or less ok, not 100% perfect but OK.
took about 2minutes to tape up each heart ( I had 15 to do :twisted: ) and even more to properly paint out each so was just wondering is there any better way to do such job in future?

If i were to do so I would mess up the white painted inner part when I paint the large green area :roll:

Paint green first. Paint white carefully when green is very dry, wiping off any unwanted white with a rag plus turps (or water if it's water paint. With a bit of practice there wouldn't be any overlap.
The right brush helps for a clean edge - ordinary flat no good

Quicker way to apply masking tape is to go right across the "hole", then cut out with a craft knife. Saves you doing all those small awkward pieces.

Paint the white first and roll the green with a foam roller.

Paint it all white (or green)!

Jacob is right IMO - much easier to paint the detail by hand - masking tape would never get the transition from white to green just right. If the White bleeds or runs around the corner, it will stand out a mile, so in fact you want the white only on the inside face and the green just covering the corner. You'll know when it looks just right and can adjust as you go.

Bit late for this year's planting in Finland, no?
