I used to know how to get to the list of all those items when you have booted up displayed on the monitor, but my memory is letting me down.

Things like Bing, boxnet, ashampoo, super anti spyware, etc. I am sure they slow the boot up down as well?

Pleased to report after advice given yesterday re new PC, now working fastish and error free, thanks.

Thank you Roger, that misconfig was I think the way I use to use, wonder if it is still applicable to
Windows 7 pro?

Have you tried Ctrl/Alt/Dlt and go into the Task Manager..? Click on Startup tab and see whats there.? Quite often you can just 'disable' items so they dont start when you boot up..... worth a try :)

Morning DW

Yes it is. Go to Start \ All progams \ Accessories \ Run . Then type msconfig in the box and choose the 'Startup' tab.

Cheers
