How to cut HSS

Hi Guys
I want to reshape a HSS Woodturning chisel by rounding the end. Grinding will take forever unless I can cut about an inch off before finishing it off on the grinder..
Is it possible to do that? The blade is about 1/4 inch thick, and about 1 inch wide.

Angle grinder with a thin cutting blade will sort that out.

Cheers, Roy. Would I need a generic metal cutting disc or a special stainless steel cutting disc, or some other sort?

Any metal cutting disc will do, although they do sell ones specifically for stainless which no doubt are better than the 'normal' ones.
Try to get the 1mm or at least 1.6mm ones since they remove less material - they are quicker to cut with, and assuming the chisel is mounted firmly in a vice try very light pressure cuts as these will be far easier to control
