how rare is burr sycamore?

I boght some green burr sycamore the other day, I was told it was rare?!!?!?!? has anyone else ever seen any? have i been sold magic beans :lol:

Haven't a clue to it's rarity but it looks a gorgeous lump of wood.
Will look forward to seeing what you turn up with
Talking of Sycamore my tree surgeon friend has got a complete trunk of Sycamore which has been lying in his yard for a couple of years.
Would it be worth getting some of it :?:

hmmm it depends if its been directly on the floor paul
in my experince sycamore goes too soft too quickly.
why not take a slice of with your chainsaw and have a look?

It is actually on the top of a pile of other trunks.I might just get him to cut a piece off when i get some room.
