In 1967 my mother and I went to EXPO67 in Montreal . It was a great experience for me as the Russian pavilion was chock full of "we got this space achievement first" displays , the Australians imported a herd of kangaroos and there were numerous entertainments at other pavilions. But to this day my mind goes first to a guy with great chutzpah and a portable canning set-up . He was canning and selling ... wait for it ... genuine EXPO67 air . Hard to fault him on advertising either as he was canning it on the spot , you got just exactly what was on the label . He was having a hard time just keeping up with the demand as well , loved it!

You know how you see the word vintage everywhere now? Vintage telephone. Vintage clothes. Vintage tools.
That's probably one of them vintage rocks. That's why it's in an auction I should think.
It's fairly common knowledge that production values in rocks fell after about the Jurassic. Accountants started taking over and the true craftsmen lost out. Production of rocks slowly became mechanised. By the neolithic, production had move Eastward and these rocks are pale shadows of earlier rocks when rock makers with proper apprenticeships and vast families of children with rickets would loving turn out well crafted rocks for the love of the craft and 3 shillings every 9 years. Those were the days.
None of your modern rock rubbish.
Just the other day I was at one of the big Diy sheds and they were selling these 'literally' by the bag full.
It's a crying shame.
