Its doubtful the festool do a bulk discount - especially on relatively small numbers - they tend to practice the price is the price is the price - and retailers arent allowed to discount their goods

I dont think buying bulk makes any difference with Festool

I went to the Sandown park tool show on Tuesday and Bunny's bolts had a couple of Festool stands there with Festool guys demonstrating their stuff.

I made the mistake of saying "so what deals are you doing for the show" thinking they must be doing something everyone else is. God you should have seen his face "Festool dont do deals". So that FREE systainer router bit box that I got when I bought my 1010 router wasnt a deal then   .

You never know the dealer might do a deal if enough people bought Dominoes. Count me out as I am skint unless its one of these http://www.dominos.co.uk/ I can just about stretch to one of those

If you can get it down to £500 a unit, I'll have 10.

Has anyone considered a bulk buy ?

Now that I have the details of making casement windows with a Domino (care of Steve Maskery)- it might be happening rather rapid, as I dare say I could make them a damn sight quicker with a Domino that the traditional way.

Well I took the plunge today. :)
I got the Q-set, and the systainer with the selection of domino's and cutters, £700 inc vat. good deal I thought, saving of around £110 off list.

After hearing this constant talk of 'dominos' in the project forum I had to pay a visit to youtube and see what this much talked about machine was, and what all the buzz was about!!

What can I say, but wow!!! I want one, I wonder is it too late to ammend my letter to Santa, d'ye think he'd be pee'd off if I changed my mind now? :p

Failing that I could always just wait for the 'Aldi' Powercraft or 'Lidl' Parkside version to come out in a few years, that should be interesting!

That would have meant you paid around £70 for the systainer full of dominoes and cutters - assuming that the Q-Set was £632, i.e. not discounted.

Thats'a cracking deal!.

I was told by a few dealers that the tools themselves can't be discounted but the accessories can - I paid £735 for the same as Alex s - but with a pack of 5x30 Doms thrown in - but had to really push them for that - so Alex did really well - I tried a few dealers and £735 was the best price.
Alex did you get the new Doms / cutter kit with the 4mm cutter and Doms?

Hey there,

I'm pretty new to the Festool Domino but I can see the attraction. However. are the dominos expensive to restock? Or can they be easily made on a router table?

Eoin

Eoin - no not really expensive - Axminster sell them in large numbers which means about £50 per size. But other Festool dealers (find your local one) sell much smaller packs - say £10-£15 for 300 5x30's - so not actually hugely more expensive than biscuits. But yes you can of course make your own if you like - although they won't have the glue ribs the Festool ones have.

Cheers

Gidon
