how do i assemble this stanley to work properly?

having lost the instructions want to know which way round to assemble the fence please???

can i use it for cutting rebates on the piece of lime underneath??

I have a few combis and can say that the fence goes on the other side. Notice those 2 adjusting bolts in the way there. That would be an indication. I think most of the combis had a prejudice toward righties. I think you could probably get away with referencing off the right hand side, as long as you were out far enough to avoid the bolts on the right hand side, but most definitely the fence was designed to be used from the left side.

Of course this is coming from a novice and rightie so I am naturally prejudiced :shock:

well having checked and watched the alf video i have re assembled the plane, and so far done a number of grooves which are pretty good, but you do need proper hold downs to keep the wood steady
