came back from shops
loml is in hot tub
open fire decided to throw it's toys out the pram :(
black ceiling black walls and smoke you could choke from
bad day to say the least, not that serious tbh as under control in short time
but pineapples for the cleanup
not looking forward to the big scrub down job

lesson learnt
at least I get to make new dining chairs :D

Thats more good luck than bad. youre ahead of the game.

time for a spark guard, or maybe a fake gas open fire?
 
Savage ! Lucky it wasn't more serious.

I had a stove fitted a while back, thought it would reduce the risk further and chuck out more heat. My dog decided it's toy giraffe was cold so put it close to the fire. Luckily I was home for dinner so saw it and could smell it melting. The front of the fire can be 1-200 degrees so it wouldn't have took much to ignite. Lesson learnt.

I suspect the excess would not be worth it
and like Colesy it was a dogs toy that helped fuel it

They've now a central insurance database - you might find your car insurance does up as well, as you'll be deemed more likely to make a claim. Travel insurance will follow.
