Horsebox Wood

Hi all!

I have recently bought a wooden horsebox and a few bits are rotten and need replacing, does anyone know what sort of wood they normally use for this purpose?

I will try and get a picture but it has all been painted so it's hard to tell!

English ash is highly rated for the framing but as suggested Keruing is often used for framing and flooring with cheaper lighter weight timbers for side boarding. The flooring seems to me to be the most important part if you are transporting horses.

Thanks! I will look into Keruing, never heard of it before!

The frame is all steel so I will be grinding back and tidying up. It's only going to be carrying people from now on
