Had 2 hours to play with this morning :p

And after reading a comment saying hollow forms seem pointless I thought I would have a go :p

This is the result :D

so comments , I think the base it a bit wide

Nice piece - as you say, perhaps the base would look better if a little narrower, but the shape is nice, the curve flows well, and it's got some lovely figuring :D

Looks good to me Allen :D
Nice flowing curves.
Would agree about the base.
What finish have you used :?:

Sanded through the grits to 1500 , 2 coats sanding sealer , then briwax clear x2 coats

Nice piece of laburnam. I think the base is too large for my taste. How do you find the inside finish is with tools that don't cut so much as scrape?

The smaller of the 2 tools does cut quit well , and the other tool does scrape to a fair Finnish , but I had just enough room to sand through the grades inside as well , so its quite good

The first thing most men do when they see a nice hole is stick there finger in it  , Well all the men I have shown it to so far have , with a smooth in and out action , they say they are testing the quality

Hi Blister, sorry to say I don't like the foot at all, but do like the upper pot shape. May have looked better in my eyes, if you had hollowed the foot, then fret sawn it into three small legs for the pot to stand on. As it is the base just looks too heavy to me.

Hi Blister,

I like the top shape but agree the base is a bit heavy.

I am intrigued by Tams idea of making legs, I have never thought of that
