I have a great friend who I've known for 40 years who, after losing his wife has moved to Barcelona and set up home. He's badgered us to go and visit, so we did last week. He has a luxurious, newly built 5 bed house with pool. We spent an incredible week, either by his pool, or being chauffeured in his BMW 645 convertible, or dining in superb restaurants.
Down to earth with a bump when we got back, but what a week! He has done well for himself selling pharmaceuticals all over the world. He had to go to Istanbul for 2 days while we were there, so we had the place to ourselves. He passed through the airport where the bombs went off only a few days prior!

This was parked outside one of the restaurants we ate in. It's German, fibre glass body BMW engine. It had a constant flow of people taking pictures.

The wife and I went a good few years ago, it's a beautiful city with lots to see, you went to La Rambla?

Stew
Yes we did Stew, we arrived at about 5pm, it was very quiet but by 6 it was heaving weird.

Yes Barcelona is wonderful.
Haven't been there for maybe 12 years or so but will hopefully take another trip there in the future.

I think some car designer's remit was "find a way of making a 911 ugly"

Simon, my pal said he didn't like it. I do, I think the wheels set it off though.

Wow nice place - has he ever thought of Air BnB? Barcelona is one place I've always fancied for the architecture.

It's about a 14 hour drive. I did a week of off roading in the Pyranees and when we finish we ended up at a mates villa in Barcelona. The following day we drove home and it was only 14 hours and that included at least an hour out at the Milau bridge. In fact we took a bit of a detour just to drive over it. Barcelona is indeed a nice place. Very chilled.
