Tho it is a tad light weight. I'd not use this for heavy duty work.

The drill is a little heavy but on the whole a hundred times better than my Makita.

Charged both batteries up (20min each) and had a play with the saw and drill. Both seem pretty good. I'm happy with them.

much better than the makita, 'sounds' metal even tho the outer casing is plastic. I have not drilled into hardwood or masonry yet tho.

I just made a few cuts in 18mm ply, which it made without missing a beat. I'd upgrade the blade, but that's true of most saws. Not tried it in soft or hard wood.

Oh dear.............

I've just had to visit my local Screwfix trade counter. And there they were. Waiting. For me.

So I had to buy them - two sets :lol:

The plan is to nick the batteries and charger from the second set, then flog the circular saw, torch and drill to re-coup some of the cost (once the Screwfix offer has gone off - not exactly a sellers market at the mo!).

Very impressed with them. May add the Jigsaw/Impact driver in the future.

irl never buy a hitachi cordless drill again,the chuck on mine either slips with hss drill bits or if im drilling out locks ect with spade bits it tightnens up that much i have to get the grips and stilson out to release the bit.the drills fine apart from that but its going to be makita or bosch next for me.

They sell a load of variants, and the chuck is (as with Makita) one of the areas they skimp on for the cheaper models. Mine's all metal, and very good indeed - one of the better OEM chucks I've come across.

yes plastic chuck. The quality is yet to be put to rigorous testing. But 'feels' more robust than my Makita.
