Got a spare base for one of these. Its attached to the body in various places including a pin for the depth hinge. Don't know what this kind of pin is called but am having difficulty in removing it.
The pin is hollow with a slot running along it presumably to allow it to close whilst being inserted.
So has anyone replaced the base before? How did you do it? Whats this pin called?

They're called roll pins. They should just punch out, but you really need a parallel pin punch of the correct size to make sure you don't damage the hole.

That definitely sounds like a roll pin to me, as well. Worst case scenario with these is that they've snapped and that some of the fragments have become wedged inside, making it a right pig's ear to remove... Fortunately though, that's more of a common occurrence with mortisers, or other machines where gears are involved. I doubt that your pin will be damaged in such a way.

If you don't have a punch, you might have a bolt of the right diameter?

They're good saws. What was wrong with the old base, if you don't mind me asking?
