Hi everyone!

New to the forum but been reading it for a couple of days and thought I would join you!

I'm a carpenter by trade but do a lot of general building work nowadays and most of my woodwork is now done in my shed/workshop for enjoyment. I enjoy all kinds of woodwork and will try my hand at anything that involves making something from wood!

Anyway just a quick hello really, and a thanks to those here that have helped me unknowingly so far with your previous posts! I look forward to being a part of your forum :D

Welcome Twig may your stay be long merry and enjoyable :)

I'm new(ish) too, I've spent an extended period away but i'm glad to be back! What sort of things have you been making?

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I make a large variety of things! Clocks, table lamps, candle holders, hanging decorations, coffee tables, storage chests, boxes, carvings, picture frames and anything else I can think of! I get bored making the same things too often! I use logs, branches and reclaimed timber for all of my work. I will happily share some photos if anyone is interested!

Anything in particular you enjoy making coach-carpenter?

Absolutely, I'd be interested!

I started of as a cabinet maker then I travelled a bit came home and set up on my own. i don't spend as much time as i used to in the workshop but i have made a variety of things. Bathroom vanity units. custom kitchen islands, tables, loads of stuff for my workshop.

I really enjoy making keepsakes boxes though. I like working on something intricate every once in a while.

I will happily put up some photos of my work tomorrow!

Intricate work is definitely the most enjoyable for me. I'm purchasing a band saw tomorrow so looking forward to making some band saw boxes from logs that I have soon. More wood in the house!

Hi Twig and welcome,if you are looking for blades for your new saw then I and just about every one on here would recommend that you take a look at Tuff Saws.I have no vested interest just a SATISFIED customer.

Thanks again for the kind welcome everyone!

Been a busy day picking up new toys, fixing them up and sorting my workshop to fit them in! Today I got a Delta 40-450 scroll saw, an Electra Beckum 315 band saw, an Axminster ch18f drill press and an Axminster dust extractor (I forget the model!) I got the scroll saw set up perfectly and had some fun testing that out! I need to order a new blade guide set for the band saw as it is damaged so hopefully will have that up and running smoothly get soon! Drill press is working perfectly and the dust extractor works but not been set up yet. I'm like a kid in a sweet shop :D
