hello to all, I found this place to be very interactive and appealing for introducing scrapping as form of craft as this place is filled with similar ideas of arts and crafts. Each of its forums is distinct in itself to cater the broader spectrum of scrap booking at this place. I wish to continue a lot with revelation to my fellow contributors about scrapping ideas, experience and rest that I have to offer. I feel you must be finding it to be very interesting and I would remain discussing with things in successive posts of mine.
:)

'Scrapping' Or Scrap Booking, I believe, Is a hobby where items are collected and arranged in a book in some sort of artistic way. Not something I can relate to i'm afraid. Seems infinitely pointless, to me. Either make a picture and call it art or make something that has function, which is also pleasing to the eye. Imagine what my friends and family would say if I offered them a book of stuff I'd stuck in it! ;)

I'm surprised at the amount of vitriolic posts on this topic  . Can you not give the person a chance to respond? Maybe English is not his first language, or he is dyslexic, I expect better from our members :( .

You could be right Phil, but most folks get bombarded by so so much spam/scam mails these days that read exactly like that post that you can't blame them for being a bit cynical.

If he turns out to be genuine then I'm sure we'll roll out the red carpet - but I bet he isn't

I keep a scrap-book of my woodworking travails. I don't paste in clippings any more tho'. I use the plastic A4 pockets and keep them in ring-binders, in the loft. (ATM) Mostly it's plans culled from any and everywhere, but there are some pics of jobs I've done.

I suppose some pro woodworkers might call this a form of order book, or record of work. To me it includes anything interesting that I come across related to woodwork.

But now I am just starting a blog, which to me is the 21st century equivalent of a scrapbook. The 'scrapbook' was something that rose in the Victorian era I believe.

Whatever, welcome to the forum. It sounds as if you'll fit right in! :-k :D

I see one of their interests in woodnet is getting wood as part of a community. Remind to stay away from them then

try googling his user name http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q= ... arch&meta= the result is lots of forums with his profile but no posts, lots of forums with the exact same post he made here , a few forums on which his advertising spam survives, and quite a few on which he is banned (presumably for posting advertising spam)

Now perhaps he is a genuine poster with an interest in (among others) Woodwork, metal work, sewing machines, veganism, creative writing, bhudism, painting, growing vegetables, wildlifem, photography and staned glass and who according to his various profiles lives in ohio, and australia, and likes to attend scrap booking glasses in england, and who just happens to introduce himself with the same post he made here on every forum he joins.

But anyone who really believes that this is likely is probably also waiting for a nice nigerian millionaire to transfer funds to their account

I'm sorry BSM but I'm not so cynical as to google everyone's first post to see if they are genuine or not. I tend to take people at face value and if I'm wrong c'est la vie, I won't lose any sleep over it.

Phil

scrapping here you can understand with some antique and collected items that can be used as supported stuff for many a number of purposes in other crafts
