Help with Computer DVD drive

Since loading all our personal CD's onto an iPod and at the time having some difficulty with some of them, where we had to play around with some of the settings, our CD/DVD drive refuses to recognise any CD/DVD's.

As usual when altering the settings HID's didn't take note of what was changed.

Any thoughts on how to fix this would be appreciated.

When you look in "my computer" is the drive recognised?
