Could anyone help to save my marriage!

Just been using some expanding foam with my foam gun.

Shook the can well, however the ball in the tip must have been stuck after the last time I used it, so I freed it with the flat edge of a fine screwdriver...... has anyone guessed what happened next?

Load load of the stuff flew out and went all over some porcolain tiles on the kitchen floor!

I haven't touched it, I'm think of leaving it overnight to set then have a go at it tomorrow.

I do have some of the foam gun cleaner, I'll use it after Ive cut the think off if, however will it damage the tiles?

Any suggestions on a better way to remove?

Thanks Lads
Phil

From memory there's two type of foam gun cleaner. One for cleaning/dissolving wet stuff, the other for loosening the hard stuff. Not sure what to recommend other than to say been there done that :)

Porcelain tiles are as tough as old boots and not porous to my knowledge. Let it dry then scrape it off. Used an old plane blade on spilled glue on our floor tiles and left no marks.

Heh - once hard it'll clean up with a plastic scraper no problem - won't touch the tiles at all.

Pics plz for a laugh, but I can better that - Builder mate took the gun off an almost full can a few years back that wasn't working properly - he was going to clean the gun, but the valve must have been faulty because soon as the gun was off it went off like a silly string roman candle, and it was windy too, it was everywhere - the decking, the covered roof, next doors conservatory.... it was a horror show. He came and got me and I almost wet myself laughing.

I have had no end of problems with this stuff. I now have a tin of Screwfix foam eater and it certainly works when it is wet. As said before porcelain would probably be my surface of choice if I had to spill it. I would leave it to go hard, even spray with some water as this helps it go off, then chip off. It should come off no problem. If it was the carpet I would be packing my bag and leaving home! :)

Porcelain tiles may be tough but they mark like mad
I used a chinagraph pencil for marking out and I had a devils job of cleaning them off
No amount of cleaners/bleach/bathroom cleaners worked
I ended up redoing

Word of warning do not get expanding foam or pu glue on your bare hands as this stuff will take up to week to come off!

As a window cleaner who's done a lot of builder cleans over the years. Cement, mastic etc on expensive coated glass. +1 to the scraper. Coupla quid for a little plastic job, just make sure the blades are new and sharp. (Great little tool to have for glossing windowframes too and loads of little other jobs so no loss). While you're at the shop get some white pads, like green (scourer) pads but softer for any residue on the grouting the blade/ chemical cleaner doesn't get. Enjoy! :D

Yup...the big mistake with any small spills or splashes on stuff like tiles and wood is to try and remove with a solvent. All that ends up doing is leave a residue in all the pores. Much better to let it go off and then mechanically remove it.
