From an Irish language learning kiwi which is about as far from Ireland as you can possibly get.

You probably have more Irish than I have, at least you have the choice, we were forced to learn it right up to leaving school and most only have a vague idea. Over 45 yrs later and never had much use for it but have used my bit of French and Serbian! Slan!
