Hello
I have not done any kind of woodworking since school. I was gifted the online course by Steve Ramsey (woodworking for mere mortals) by my mother in law. I was hesitant to follow an online course from someone in the US but Steve seems to cater well to other regions with measurements, explaining the difference in some terminology, and offering alternative approaches for folks who do not have access to dado blades.
I've picked up a few second hand tools and look forward to giving this a try. Last on my list, after picking up a 10" mitre saw this morning from someone in Devizes, is a wet and dry vacuum attached to some cheap cyclone system. I've found a few recent-ish threads via search to help me which is very helpful.
My main driver for me wanting to learn is just simple photo frames for our walls as I learned photography a couple of years ago. I have plenty of family photos. But I'm looking forward to making other things from the course:
After I've got a wet and dry vacuum, it'll be a somewhat daunting first trip to buy some timber to build a pretty simple workbench. I've only ever bought MDF from B&Q before.
Happy new year!
Thanks
Adam
