Morning all . Seems like fun on here so thought I would kill the mood on here by introducing myself , Semi retired now and thinking about how to fill the expanding free time so apart from the river fly fishing , and the allotment I have bought myself a new ( old ) lathe . I have had a few over the years a ancient Coronet Minor than a Coronet number 1. Then I housed a number 3 for a while for a friend who went abroad. For the last few years I have just had the old Minor and at the weekend I picked up a lathe I always fancied a Major with saw/ planer and slot morticer, its a 1978 which makes it a lot younger than me , It Is now in bits in the Garage covering my only free bench whilst I weigh up where to get rid of the old minor too. very pleased with the major obviously has been looked after and was fully assembled and working when I picked it up. I like the idea that my chucks and stuff will all fit it. Photos to follow when its put together , On the to do list are another cork reel seat for a old rod I am repairing and a pair of gates for the drive and a new cold frame for the allotment which I reckon I can make from the old gates, Us Yorkshire folk dont like wasting stuff....
