I retired a couple years ago and have just completed ( well, almost) refurbishing our home over the last 3 years.
Its kept me busy but now, I can hopefully focus on learning a new hobby with some help from this community.
I was never very good at woodwork, had few decent tools and wood filler & paint was my friend! I have barely half a garage to work in so have just bought a reasonably priced mobile table saw. I also have an old sliding mitre saw and a few blunt wood chisels.
I do have tons of patience when not under pressure to have a room ready by a fixed point in time, so hopefully I will make good use of my retirement and produce some praiseworthy projects.
I have some internal drawer boxes & slide out shelves to make to upgrade a couple of kitchen units and some alterations to a 3m wide fitted bookcase to accommodate a recessed tv.
Plus several outdoor projects.
First job is to clear out my old racking from the garage, fit a new sealed roller door to help keep the heat in and then build a workbench and better organised shelving.
I’m looking forward to getting stuck in asap in the New Year and will no doubt have a few beginner questions.
