My wife decided to recover the piano-stool seat this morning, before leaving for work. Unfortunately, she assumed the electric nailer was still loaded with short staples, whereas in reality it contained 50mm brads. Consequently she nailed the seat securely to the kitchen worktop!
I've managed to remove it now, and pulled all the brads out, and I was wondering if there's a trick with a damp cloth and an iron, or any other method of encouraging the holes to shrink.
It's only beech(birch? [looks like beech to me, but Ikea list it as birch...]) staves (Ikea Varde range) and it's not exactly brand-new, but any advice would be welcome!
