My bosch electric planer kept clogging when I tried taking off anything more than 1mm in one pass. Hooking it up to the hoover is a bit of hassle especially lumping it around on site but does cure the blocking.
On a whim I squirted a bit of silicone spray around the exit just to see if it might magically fix it and it seemed to make it much better !
afterwards I was able to plane off 2mm+ without any signs of clogging. I suspect it'll be something that needs redoing now again but would rather carry a can instead of a hoover around
