Apologies for terrible photos - house is a mess and it's dark and wet outside!!
Picked up this wonderful old drill.
Very solid and sturdy hand crank and a lovely lever arm to lower the turning chuck and drill bit.
Made a little base out of wood scraps so a drill vice can go down there and be level wherever you put it.
I will stick some pipe insulation of a tennis ball on the end of the handle. I intend to use with children. Cranking the drill handle and lowering the drill at the same time will be an interesting challenge.
Interesting to note is that there is a pulley drive belt cut into the large cog. I guess the handle can be removed and a motor or something else connected?
There is also a separate mounting arm to the rear - is this for a motor / a pulley or something else?
