yeah, I saw half a dozen today as I drove towards Harrogate, at a range of about 10 metres.

Being an admirer of you're work, I thought What a lovely start to the new year and an interesting story.
Some people, as my old dad would say, "Some people have more front than Brighton".
I must say, you really ought to charge a reasonable fee for materials, blades and something towards the machine wear and tear, drive belts etc, doing things for free sends out the wrong signals most of the time.
But what an opportunity for you're lovely work to be seen, Excellent!

Well done from me also Brian. That other guy is a real fraud and the deposit paid needs to be refunded in law. The tourist people should demand the refund or tell them that they will take action. Not sure if you have 'Trading Standards' office in Scotland, but they would make enquiries about this phoney teacher/con man.

Good luck with it.

Malcolm

Brilliant story... he may think your a mug (if you told him your doing it for free)... but now you will only profit from future projects.

Well done Brian.

You said that he was a teacher, what was his subject, how to get rich on the backs of others. The scum bag.

Still you may have found a lucrative outlet for your work, through his dishonesty. :D

Take care.

Chris.

Absolutely shocked! I know that in the 'craft' world there is a lot of copying (flattery?) but that is downright dishonest.
Glad that you can get a good showcase from it, but bear in mind what the market was prepared to pay him , they will definitely pay you
Hope you managing to keep dry enough
Gill

Nicely played Brian, it never ceases to amaze me the brass neck some people have or as we say in Ireland "He has a neck like a jockey's bo1lo*ks"
Regards
Brendan

Hi Brian,
Happy New Year,I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall that day.You will have your reasons for doing it for free but I agree with Gill you would have got the price that scum bag was going to get. When I am next down your neck of the woods I will leave the CAMERA behind.

Peter.
