Thanks guys. Really looking forward to getting into the monthly comp, even if the first few are pure junk...... but not this month
Got to build a base for it ( assuming I can remember how to put the lathe back together today ) and get some bits and pieces....

This is what you might call a good compromise.

I wanted a 1628 and maybe I still do but a good quality lathe like the hegner for £500 was irresistible. It will be good to learn on and if I am no good, or decide to still get the 1628 I can sell it on and lose very little.
