I've been leafing through a couple of public domain workshop books I've picked up, this one is

J. P. Law - The Beginners Guide to Fitting 1935.


Just started on this one, i think I'm going to like it

Peri, if you like the tone of that comment, you might also appreciate this, from Walter Coventon, in "Woodwork Tools and their Use" (1953, not yet in public domain.)

Referring to the Stanley 75 bullnose rebate plane, he offers this succinct dismissal:

"The low-priced bullnose plane might be bought if it is questionable whether the plane will ever be needed by the craftsman, and it is unlikely that amateurs will ever have need for the tool."
