We bought some rather nice lamps from France. They use the Edison M27 thread and small clear 40W golfball lights. I do have spare sockets as the originals carbonised very quickly.

But the problem I'm having is that there seems to be a lot of stiction when screwing in the bulbs and I wondered if there was some sort of spray i could use on the thread...a spray that won't gum up with the heat from the light bulb.

Any suggestions?

Dry lube PTFE spray from Screwfix is handy stuff for these situations.

Some E27 lampholders have a single turn wire coil set into the thread as an anti vibration device. The 'graunchy' feel is normal for that style of lampholder.
