What's every one been buying?
Hi Toby. I bought a saw too. Only mine says "Wadkin" on the side, and has a tail (or will do after the sparky has been), so I'm not allowed to talk about in the hand tools section (hammer)

Cheers, Vann.

Not really for woodworking, but they are hand tools.... sort of!

A model-maker's pillar drill:

I bought it from the widow of an enthusiastic home engineer. At first I assumed he had built it himself from castings, but something wasn't quite right. Then I realised, it looks rather like the one in this thread, albeit with some alterations!

The other thing I picked up is a Cowell's 6" hand shaper. Definitely a hand tool!

A couple of weeks back at a car boot I found this Diston Phila 4tpi monster for £10. I liked the explanation of the extra hole in the handle being for a 2 handed grip. I hadn't seen anything like it before.

Not in the same league, and only peripherally hand tools but here's today's haul. The £20 Alligator saw may come in handy as being more economical than chainsaw for planking short stuff (anyone got any experience of this?) and the binder twine (for all my loose change, £1.44) is horticulturally useful and a nice bit of nostalgia for folk like me of a certain age and history. 50p for the unnamed sliding bevel didn't seem bad.
