Hi All:

We had a 14 year old privacy arbor covered with vines which became rather grungy looking so dismantled it. I salvaged the spruce construction lumber to build this bench.

Thanks for looking.

Well that looks more than good enough for another 14 years, nice job Lee.

Sorry Rodger....no work in progress pic's. I dumped the Microsoft Windows 98SE which Microsoft recently mothballed & replaced it with Windows XP & was in the process of learning the new system...still am.
For those interested, I encountered a design mind block for a bench. I went to google images and printed out a design that I liked that also gave dimension such a length, width, height. I then applied my ruler to the print-out and converted these dimensions to "x"mm = 1" & drew up my own plans to scale. Then applied modifications: such as inclining the back 11 degrees instead of straight, shorten the length of the bench to suit our needs, instead of carrying the end slats up & over the arms I made a curved top piece for the arms...more comfortable. It worked out pretty good. Were I to do another, there are some minor changes I would make....but that is true of all of my projects.
Thank you for your kind comments.

Lee
