I have been trying to make a copy of a wardrobe door today. It is for the furniture company to replace one that has bent!

Not too sure about the match as he asked for Ash? I am not sure what the original is, just that it is from China and has some funny Chinese name? Anyway the most difficult part was the bottom rail.

I am just hoping it looks better when is has a finish on. :?

It would of looked perfect if you had used quartersawn, you have used crown cut, and I think it will look odd. Unless the existing is badly matched too? Sorry to be a **** Alan, but I think you should change it.

Oooops' as all ready mentioned, you've used the wrong cut of wood.

Just hope it's not to match some more doors in the same room  .

Yes I am not too pleased with it either. Actually the centre panel is a veneered board but which wood? Have put it on the back burner for now.

Yours is the one on the left, yes? - that's the nice one. If you could change the handles, even better :)
p.s. whatever the original is, it ain't ash.

Yes, mine is the one on the right condeesteso. I am not sure what wood the original is? Someone on another forum mentioned it may be Hyedua, I looked this up nerver having heard of it before and I don't think it is as the description differs from this stuff. It is a hard wood but very 'flakey' when it is cut or worked. The wardrobe is described as Oak which it is definitely not. I do know it comes from China and the Chinese name sounds like 'Julian'?? I am lost with this one?!
