Hello,

I really like the look of linseed oil on some woods, but I want a shiney finish ... Can I apply Liberon lathe polish on top of a peice that's already been oiled ?

And in the same vein I have s couple of items that have been finished with linseed AND ca glue mix .... Does anyone know if Liberon lathe polish can be applied on top of this ?

Thanks very much

John

Yes. You should be able to apply nearly any sort of polish on top of wood oiled with linseed as long as you wait for the the oil to cure.

I don't know for sure but I doubt it will bond to the CA.

Are the items in question not shiny enough? You should be able to buff the hardened glue to a high gloss without too much trouble. I can get a pretty good shine just rubbing on my jeans but you can go a lot further than that.

Thanks for that, that's given memory confidence .... Well they are in fairness shiney enough, I just fancy a real thick gloss shine. Although I know lathe polish won't do much more than the ca glue and what I should do is pluck up the courage to apply a proper thick varnish
