I was contacted today about wood for turning. Said she might have some that I could uas. Went to see here and she'as got trees that she wants spruning, loads of trees that have been down for ages and I can go back as often as I like. Managesd to get this lot in the back of the car today.

Includs sycamore, sycamore root, spalted ash, apple, plum and a few pieces of unknown. Several will be ideal for rustic pieces by the looks of things. To come, Rhododendron, more of the above, unknow conifer (might leave that) hazel, and goodness knows what else.

The two long pieces on top are ivy, thick enough to turn as an experiment. Anyone ever tried it?

Way to go Pete! All I've ever done with Freecycle is give stuff away. 'er indoors and myself had a big clear out just before Xmas, it all went.

May have to follow your example about the wood, but have no more room to store it at the moment.

Didn't Chas turn some ivy last year ? Quite huge in section.

Nice haul (but I'd probably leave the conifer as well..)

I will probably have a go at a bit of the Ivy, just to say I've done it. The rest SWMBO will probably commandeer for flower arrangements unless I can think of some way of using it as a stand for a turning.
