Needing to get the workshop cleared out and ready for some serious (!!) extra curricular work I happened across this stash of bits n pieces which I probably thought I'd clean up one day.

Obviously 'one day' is never going to come, so anyone who'd like to take this stuff off my hands is welcome to come and get it.

The large pile of irons and the three sash fillister things should probably all go to one home as they sort of belong together. Otherwise PM me for whatever you fancy.

If anything is still left unclaimed (not necessarily uncollected) by next Saturday it goes in the bin.

That shoulder plane in the last picture looks a beauty, are you really getting rid of it?

If so I would be delighted to take it off your hands. I have wanted an infill shoulder plane for an while now.

I hope you enjoy the new space in your workshop as much as I'm sure people will enjoy your generous contributions to their tool problems.

Biliphuster, it's all yours. It'll need a good clean and the sole will need some work. It'll also obviously need a good sharpening.

PM me to let me know when you want to collect it.

Just will take the infill plane in the last two pictures if you can post it, I will pay the p&p.

Pete

Pming you about the chisels in top photo and the fillister, don't need the plough irons.

Hello Zeddedhed, I understand if it comes across have having a bit of a cheek..being a first post.

I am a long time reader of the forum, but for some reason have never mustered up the confidence for a first post.

Im currently in my third year of a three year carving course. I would be thrilled to have some of the bent back carving chisels.

I understand completely if you'don't prefere to pass them onto an active member tho. Again sorry if this comes across as a bit rude..I can see how it would. Regards James

Hi,

If the plough plane and irons are still available then ill very happy take them, ive toyed with the idea for years of owning a wooden one, perfect.
The mortice chisles will also find a good home with me and the school.

I start teaching at a secondary school and the D&T dept is new for them. The burser has bought a few machines (PD set up) and is shocked to hear that I also need hand tools (As I enjoy the RM), if any of the chisels don't get claimed then ill ask that we can have them if thats OK?

Regards and thank you so very much.

Brilliant that there's still a D&T department using real live hand tools! What are you looking for Dave?

Thanks for asking custard, its probably easier to say what I've got HaHaHa. A new modern pillar drill, Bandsaw, a table router, Laser cutter machine and PC, two Hegner scrollsaws, draper sharpening stone 2x4", set of 3 chisels (Draper again :) 1 draper claw hammer, some draper metalwork clamp-o metalwork vices, couple of tape measures, junior hacksaws, draper coping saws )....

I've written a long list of hand-tools (No Draper) and the Burser isn't to happy and I don't know what will actually be ordered.

I only have max of 12 special needs students in the workshop at any one time so its a lot less than a standard mainstream class size.

Could really do with some older Stanley or Record planes; No3,4, or 5, and a few Blockplanes. I have read/seen the plastic handled versions and honestly won't have the time to try fettling. I didn't put them on the burser's list as I was hoping to buy some from Ebay if I'm allowed. If I can avoid using the table router ( I dont think id be allowed due to H&S of noise, dust and currently a lack of bits) I'd much prefer to use metal planes, Rebate, plough, grooving ect, particulary with next years GCSE students.

As I write this I find myself thinking about the good nature of people and the logistics if that were to be the case, I will ask the head if I can have an allowance for P&P should anyone be in a position to give us a plane. Ill tread carefully as its only my first day tomorrow.

Regards,
Dave

If the moulding planes don't go in a your allotted time and you can stand the agg of posting them I'd be more than happy to take care of them and I'll sort out post and packaging costs. If someone posts who can collect by all means do it that way. I'll understand if you don't want the grief. Just seems a shame to see them binned. Fair play to you. You have my respect for what its worth.

OK chaps and chapesses, it seems like most of the gear is now claimed by at least one person per item, some have more responses.
I'll have a proper look through the pm's and replies tonight and work out who is getting what and then let you all know if that's OK.

Good luck for your first day Dave - I hope it all goes well

Thanks Stan..
It was a good day, been a few years since I taught teenagers, i forgot how much energy it takes, I stayed till 7pm.
I thought I'd better log in before falling into bed.

Thanks to those of you who have P/M'ed with offeres of help, I'm really blown away........Thanks again.

Apologies to Zeddedhed for unintentionally hijacking a little piece of this post.

No problem re the hijack Dave. It's inspired me to see what else I've got that might be useful to you.

Apologies to the rest of you that I haven't got around to allocating the stuff yet - last night was a truly mental evening for various reasons so I'll hopefully get to it tonight.

Thanks for your patience.
