I bought these about 18 months ago to do up and use, but Ive not had the time to do it and dont think I will any time soon. So I need to raise some cash to but some more needed tools.

Not sure what they are worth so Im open to offers.

i'd like the no7 depending on cost. Please can you give me an idea?

Hi Bassbear81

If you are unsure what to ask price wise , its probably best to list them on Ebay , That way 10s of thousands of people get to see them

Or perhaps Google them and see what others have sold for

Don't want to let them go too cheap

One is on ebay at the moment http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-STANLEY-N ... 0423755425

and the new ones Stanley Baily No 7 cost this much http://www.toolshopdirect.co.uk/item.ph ... /STA112007

So discounted down from £130 to £99

Hope this has helped you decide if the offers you get are fair.

hi

If your looking at eBay prices , well anything go's ,when i was looking to buy one hm about 18 months ago there were fetching anything from £70 - £140 depending of general condition really, and of course the greed of fellow bidders over-inflating the price, so 18 months taking into account inflation / recession hm :duno: that's a good :?: hc

Id rather offer it on here first rather than ebay, ill keep an eye on the one on ebay, Ive had a google and £65-£85 seems to be the going rate in 2nd hand shops.

Ill see whaar the ebay one goes for but in the meantime if anyone wants to make an offer then feel free.

OK bassbear81

I will start the offers going how does £50 for both sound ?
Give it a day or two and see if you get any better offers

I was looking for a No.7 amongst may other items on ebay and monitored the prices over about 6 months. In the end I bought a Record in excellent condition for a bargain £40.

The average price for 22 listed Stanley No. 7s was just under £50. To me the condition looks good but not excellent, so I would reckon the market price on e-bay would be £50-55.

Richard

I've seen the no.7s (Record and Stanley) go for as much as £70 on eBay (well, they did when I was bidding on them! :p). As for the block plane, it would probably fetch no more than £10-20.

I am looking for a swap

One Clifton 4 and 1/2 and one Veritas No 6 Foreplane, both excellent condition and Scary sharp. Sub thou shavings no problem.

In exchange I need a top quality No 7.

Anyone interested please contact me through pm so that we do not clog up the site.

Cheers

Mike
