I've finished using this little gem of a machine. What singles out these type of laser levels is that they automatically self-level (this one can do this over quite a wide range unlike others), they can be remote controlled and their scanning beam can be adjusted down to a very small arc thus giving a very bright beam.
It was particularly useful for me when I was fixing up ceiling joists single-handed. Using the remote, point a narrow beam at one end of the joist, nail gun it, move along the joist and trestle to the other end, use the remote to move the beam over, nail gun it and on to the next.
Can be used for both vertical and horizontal beams.
£325 ono...Makita do the same one and charge over £1000!
