Flat roof detail

Hello folks

I have a couple of question regarding construction of my new office flat roof. What is standard practice for ceiling joist layout on the external corner, do I create a ladder like in pitch roofs. Should I use joist hangers for connecting short joists to longer joist or can they be screwed?
I am going to put a fascia board & soffit on the end of joists

Just nail the stubs joists to the long joist.

assuming you want the office to be quieter than the surroundings you need to fill the space between each rafter with something dense.
