you may want to turn it on a lathe first to remove some of the spikey bits, otherwise you may end up with the grommet in tatters

aww decided to pop by B&Q on the way home from work just for a bit of ply to try out the TS55 and parallel fence.

I was pretty excited to try out this new setup and it didnt disappoint. After making sure the extension was accurate, I ran 5 strips through at 40mm and not only are the cuts dead-on-balls-accurate, but the quality of the cut is pretty damn smooth with no visible saw marks.

^^ one happy chappy.

The cheap ply from B&Q is mostly voids and wafer, but it serves a purpose.

I've used it for creating cabinets and stands in the workshop.

I do have a lot of off cuts so trying to find ideas to use it up...my current ploy for using up ply are clocks.

You could possibly fill the voids but it won't look great i don't think...the layers aren't uniform.

I made this about 20 years ago from 9 feet of ply, with just a jigsaw and hand tools.

I have used cheap Birch ply from B&Q some years ago it was light in weight but good quality, it still looks good today, I don't know if they supply the same stuff today.

Very nice.

But 9 feet of ply? pineapple me, how big is it???

Its about 250mm across I had a strip from the long side of a sheet of 8x4 and another piece to make the square.
