Hi All.

Just finished a production desk rack for a friends music studio (copied from another design, but made with plywood). Not sure what to finish it with is given the kind of wear and tear it'll get. Any thoughts? Wax / oil / varnish etc?

Cheers.

I'd go for the toughest paint I could get in that situation. Once the kit is set up on it, they won't want to take it all off to touch up the few high-traffic areas.

A water based polyurethane put on with a good brush will keep the ply nice and pale. Avoid all solvent finishes unless you want them to turn a honey yellow. The acrylic spray tins sold by Chestnut are also good but invest in a handle for the tin which will allow you to heat the tin in hot water to increase pressure and viscosity.

Thanks; will have a look!
