Not only do these spinny people give me a hard time about joining them, but god are they prolific posters!

I've just done the "View Posts since Last Visit" thing......and 21 out of the 25 postings are from The Underworld.....I mean, the Lathe Forum (Abandon Hope, All Ye Who Enter).

So, I've have decided upon a bit of a fighback.........

For the next few weeks, the polarity of the electrickery supply for the country will be reversed at random, making their expensive spinny toys run in reverse for unpredictable periods.

They'll all be begging for pole-lathes by the time I've finished with them!

Nice try Mike. One Doth Protest too much!

Mike, didn't you attempt a "Furniture Makers Fightback" elsewhere on another forum, last year? Look at what happened there... :?

 :)

Aha yes but didn't you contribute to some of those posts Mike :D

Only in the spirit of "Lips that touch licqour shall not touch ours" or trying to save the souls of the wicked. Someone has to point out the error of their ways.......

Olly.....yes, you're right. Its important to know when you've lost!

Mike

There's a turners forum?

There is, BB, and it is easy to stumble into by accident. They set traps such as "Wood Identification, Please", accessed through the "Latest Postings" search and before you know it you are posting in their devilish world.

Beware!

a bit that got lost of this   - Rob

I wouldn't call you a heretic Roy.......a hero, a survivor, the last person since some ancient-Greek-I-can't-remember to escape from Hades..........

So there I am, sitting at home contemplating nothing much at all when the lathe brigade start ringing me.......

"Mike, I've got a new chuck............what about having a go at that plane knob you wanted to turn"

"Mike, I've got a friend who has a great little lathe going for a song.......you ought to go and have a look......."

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Not with our Phase Reverse switches we won't, we have done our business model, planned well, blackmailed most of the wood shows into squeezing you lot out.

You are Doomed I say, Dooooomeedd :!: :!:

The earth is ROUND, let all have pity on the Flat Earth brigade for they have a habit of turning into collectors. :p :p

me thinks he doth protest too much.

you know you want to give it a try...
just one little go wont hurt....
go on you know you want to ....

bosh, on to the slope and away he goes - 2 years later he'll have a VB 36 and a pile of turning blanks taller than the empire state :D

Mike I try to make sure that nothing I produce has round bits on it, keeps it simple. Though I probably can't avoid this forever so may need to find a wild turnist I can break and tame for my needs.

Probably just need to wander down the local wood and keep an eye for a bloke with a beard, a chainsaw, some branches and a large sack :D
